I agree with Jo - very helpful, indeed. Iā€™m curious to follow your journey more as you discover that balance (so that I can then balance how I incorporate those lessons with my own journey šŸ˜…)

This is a common problem. When I am tired or bored I scroll through other people's artwork on social media. It makes me feel bad by comparison, I am not as good or productive as what people post on instagram. An artist I follow on youtube recently showed us his stack of failed watercolors. That was helpful, because sometimes I think I am the only one who has a drawer of shame for failed watercolors.

i've been limiting how much i scroll through people's art. it limits me; i start to want to make all of my art "postable" rather than embracing myself and my creativity. i've been trying to work on smaller projects and resist perfictonism. thank you for your comment!

I relate to this so deeply. There would be entire weeks where I would be on YouTube watching writing vlogs from other aspiring authors and in the back of my mind Iā€™d be chanting, ā€œI should write. I should write. I should write.ā€
